Kashmir Welfare Society Canada is a non-profit, non-political organization founded on the belief that communities thrive when they stand together. Since 2005, we have been a cornerstone of the Kashmiri diaspora in Canada.
We work tirelessly through welfare initiatives, cultural programming, and humanitarian support — at home in Canada and in our beloved Kashmir — ensuring every community member is supported, heard, and celebrated.

Initiatives
We actively organise a wide range of community-centred programs and welfare initiatives.
Cultural Heritage Programs
- Preserve Kashmiri language and arts through regular classes and workshops.
- Organize cultural festivals to celebrate Kashmiri music, dance, and cuisine.
- Create archives of Kashmiri history and oral traditions for future generations.
Newcomer Support
- Provide orientation sessions to help newcomers adapt to Canadian life.
- Offer mentorship programs pairing newcomers with settled community members.
- Assist with language training, job search resources, and integration into the workforce.
Community Empowerment & Coordination
- Facilitate regular town halls to address community concerns.
- Build partnerships with other organizations to create a stronger support network.
- Advocate for policy changes that benefit the Kashmiri and broader South Asian community.
Event Management
- Plan and host annual cultural events, fundraisers, and community gatherings.
- Organize youth talent shows and sports events to promote confidence and participation.
- Coordinate logistics for workshops, seminars, and guest speaker series.
Youth Empowerment
- Launch leadership training programs for young people in the community.
- Provide scholarships and mentorship to help youth pursue higher education.
- Create a safe space for youth to discuss issues and develop skills for future leadership roles.
